Dr. Alice Bedard-Voorhees is an explorer when it comes to academic and workforce learning. Her professional experience includes directorships, deanships, and faculty appointments in English, remedial education, instructional design, learning assessment, workplace education, and curriculum development for Western Governors University, Community Colleges of Colorado, Colorado Mountain College, and most recently, the University of Denver. In the past few years, she’s worked on training projects for emergency first-responders, and overseen the deployment of an online game to deliver workplace compliance training.The connective tissue to all of these endeavors has been her excitement for how technology expands our opportunities to share and collaborate. Alice has been a long-time participant in TCC, a member of the E-Learning Consortium of Colorado (ELCC), and is a current member of the American Evaluation Association. She has presented to, collaborated with, or provided professional development to colleagues in Argentina, Europe, South Africa, Canada, Dubai, China, Oman, Australia, and the United States.
Her publications include, “Letting Them Show What They Know: Digital Assessment Strategies,” with Dr. Lisa Johnson and Phyllis Dobson S. in Education for a Digital World 2.0 published by the Province of British Columbia (2011), and Increasing Engagement for Online and Face-to-Face Learning Through Online Learning Practices: The Cross Papers Number 8 (2005).
